Shuofeng is new thornless, floricane-fruiting semi-upright plant with firm fruit, high yield, recommended for processing or fresh market. Breeded by Institute of Botany, China. Selected from Kiowa and Hull varieties. Vigor of bushes is very high, growth habit semi-upright. Fruits are medium-large sized, have round shape. Berries are bright black, flavor tart to sweet with low acid. Firmness is good, easily removed from receptacle. Ripening mid- to late-season. Shuofeng blackberry recommended for machine harvesting for processing. Shuofeng is disease-resistant and has very good field tolerance to root rot.
