Plants are thornless

Bushes have trailing canes

Berries have a rounded shape

Fruiting habit - floricane fruiting (summer-bearing)

Flowering on floricanes starts in the third week of June

Ripening date (regular) - second week of August

Cold hardiness is moderate

Current status - obsolete or rarely used

Balsors Hardy Per Can Perron Black

Perron Black (Perron Noir) was developed in Canada as thornless second-year bearing blackberry with a good vigor and hardiness. Stems are long (up to 4 m) and tender. The plants of Perron Black have height about 1,5-2 m. Flowers are white. Harvesting period is long. Middle-sized rounded delicious berries ripen over several weeks in late summer, from August to late October. Fruits are very firm and have a nice flavor.
Winter hardiness is moderate, protection of the plants is essential.
