Veronique was selected from Loch Ness and got most of it's characteristics, such as large fruits, winter hardiness and earliness of ripening. The primary difference is pink color of flowers on Veronique plants.
Bushes are vigorous and thornless. Berries are conical in form and large. When fully ripe fruit have a black color with glossy plating. The flavor is typical of blackberries and have slightly acidity. Fruit weight of Veronique blackberry is typically 5-6 g but ranges up to 8-10 g. Fruit dimensions commonly range from 25 to 40 mm in length and from 20 to 30 mm in breadth. Berries are firm, have good storage capability.
A typical yield is about 9 kg per plant.
Winter hardiness is good. This variety is not widespreaded in the world.
