Sweetie Pie blackberry variety was selected by the USDA in Poplarville, Mississippi, United States. Plants grows vigorously and produces numerous floricanes, which are thornless and have a trailing (or semi-erect without fruit) growth habit. Fruit are medium size, glossy black and have excellent sweet flavor. Sweetie Pie lacks sufficient firmness for use as commercial cultivars. Cultivar has its ripening season in the middle to late June (vary from region). Usually, a cultivar produces ripen berries for 2 to 4 weeks. Plant tolerates high air temperatures very well. In addition to its excellent fruit quality, Sweetie Pie is resist to double blossom (also called rosette).
