Blackberry variety named Ningzhi 3 was selected and released by the Institute of Botany, Jiangsu Province and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Ningzhi 3 is obtained from a cross of Arapaho and Hull Thornless, and selected from a seedling settlement in 2010 with two following years of replicated and numerous production trials. It is found to be early-ripening, fully thornless is offered as replacement or addition for its parent cultivars Arapaho and Hull Thornless and widely grown variety Chester, can extend the harvesting time of high-quality thornless blackberries.
