The plants of the Nettleton Creamy White lack the anthocyanin pigmentation (red colored pigments) in the plant canes and leaves and the fruit is of a creamy white color when mature, which is unlike the normal purple coloring found in wild or commercial blackberries. This variety of blackberry is similar to other upright varieties of blackberry. After the fruit production season, the second-year canes die off. Nettleton Creamy White is distinguished by its cane and leaf coloring. A light-green coloring as it grows and matures the green darkens to a bright green, as do the leaves. The floricanes change color from the bright green to a woody brown color. Average height of the upright canes are from 150 to 180 cm depending on soil conditions. Canes are medium sized and upright with thorns up and down the canes and along the leaf stems. Date of bloom is the second week of June. The flowers have white color. Flowers are large in diameter, about 55-60 mm. Ripening time is third week of July. Berries have creamy white color. Average weight of berry is 2 g.
